My Story

Hey everybody!! Sorry, it has been a while since i have posted, but once again i have been quite busy.
Well, for the First time, i will be telling you my story of what has been going on in my life these past few months, and years. Here goes.

I got saved when i was seven years old on Feb. 3rd 1999, and Baptized in March or April. (i don't quite remember which month it was.) And i had no doubt at all that i was saved until these last few months. I was doubting, because i did not know if i knew what i was doing, because i was 7 years old. So on Nov. 9th of this year, i asked him to save me again if i wasn't already. But i was still in doubt of whether i knew WHY i was getting saved. I knew that i was saved, i just didn't know why i accepted Christ as my Savior. Pastor Townsends message today lifted a fog in front of my face. His message was on Pilate's decision on whether or not to crucify Christ, or to release Him. And he had us do the same things as the Jews, which was shout "Crucify Him" 3 times. That cut deep. Finally i realized that that is why i accepted Christ. It was really me shouting those words "Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" And i knew that i couldn't live with that knowing that i shouted those words and i didn't ask him to forgive me for that.

Well, that is my Story. I hope it was a blessing to someone.

Thanksgiving...

Hey all!! Sorry it has been a while since i have posted, but this post will hopefully make up for that.
I had a wonderful thanksgiving. It started out on Sunday, when Michelle and Dale and Heather came up here and was staying at Marty and Rachel's. Monday they came over for dinner, and we had Beef and Pork roast, with Mashed potatoes and Gravy, and Beets, Green beans, and my not so favorite stuffing. It was all wonderful!! (except the stuffing) And the next day was Tuesday, which was also wonderful, because i got a day off. (YAY!! :)
Wednesday, we went down to Mike and Becky's (4 people squished in a truck), and later, Marty and Rachel, Michelle and Dale and Heather came and we had a lunch of 2 Turkeys, (one roasted, one fried in turkey fryer) more of my not so favorite stuffing, Rolls, green bean cassirole, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and Pies for desert. And there were little things too that were awesome. Crackers and Cream Cheese spread, and Beef roast on top, Pickle wraps, Peanut butter balls, (YUM!!) and Double stuffed mint oreos dipped in Chocolate.
After supper and Marty, Rachel, Michelle and Dale left, the Kids put on a puppet show for everyone. It was sooo cute!! They even made tickets for us. They put a sheet inbetween 2 chairs, (which kept sliding down... but i think it was more the fact that Seth wanted to see so he kept going up there and looking over it.) they had Chairs set up for us, and Blankets on the floor, so if we were cold, we could put the blankets on. Well, the show was over so we all went to bed (We stayed the night there). In the morning, the Girls decided that they were going to try and wake me up. (BAD IDEA!! NEVER WAKE ME UP!! :) They started messing around with my hair, touching my nose, trying to tickle my feet, etc. Anything that they could do to try and wake me up they did. So since they could not get me up, Dad decided he would help them. (ANOTHER BAD IDEA!!) He shook me awake, and i imediately fell asleep again. So he took me by the feet and dragged me off the couch. (WAY WORSE IDEA!!) :D So i fell asleep on the floor. lol. anyways... I finaly got up... (i am not telling you what time.) And we started re-aranging the house for Becky. We had to switch the Office with the Boy's room and vise versa. so there would be more room for Baby in Mike and Becky's room, we moved Becky's office to the old boy's room. During all of this, Michelle and Dale showed up to say goodbye as they were on their way back home. And when we finaly got that all done... (5:30) we had supper. And yes we did have lunch. Mom and i went shopping and took Becky and the Girls with us, and we had fun there. And then we dropped Becky, Anna, and Lydia off at their house, and we got the guys and went home. (once again, we had to squish 4 people in the truck...). And that is the end of Thanksgiving.

This week, Lydia and Anna get to stay with us for a while. And Saturday we are going to the Sleighbell parade in Manistee, and afterwards, we are going to the Truitt's house and play some games.
Well this concludes my post for today. I hope you enjoyed this post, and had a Wonderful thanksgiving. :)
Next is a Wedding, some Birthdays... AND... Christmas. :D

Thursday

Hey everyone!! Sorry i haven't posted in a while... But now i am going to tell you a story!! :)

Yesterday was Thursday. (DUH!!)
I went with Anna to TC at about 1:30 and we went shopping, and we went to the Mall.
After that, we went to Goodwill, and after that we went to eat.... CHINESE FOOD!! :) (My favorite!!)
And then we went on to Church. Well, we were the first ones to get there!! And it was cold outside. So we got into the old Church Building and i turned the heat on. Well, the furnace never works for me, so it just blew out cold air.
We watched a Movie for Church, because Pastor wasn't here. It was VERY good!! It is called "Return of the Daughters". I am reading the book which has a different name "So Much More".
After that, Jaina came and wanted me to play the piano for her. I told her that i would as soon as people moved to the other building so that i didn't have so much of an audience. Then Bethany Millen came up to me and wanted my help with the Violin. So i helped her with that. And after i helped her, almost everybody was gone, so i called Jaina and played the Piano for her. And then Marty comes in and askes to talk to me. (ODD!! Marty never does that!!) So i get up and he starts walking away.( He always talkes to me where i am!!) So i tell him:
"Marty, you are being suspicious.... What do you want to talk to me about??"
Marty replys: "It's about Saturday"
Well that was normal at least. Saturday i wanted to have Mike and Becky and the Kids and Marty and Rachel over for dinner. So i follow him to the other building. And as soon as i walk in the door, everybody starts singing Happy Birthday to me. I was So Shocked!! I had never had a suprize Birthday Party before in my life!!
Anna and Hannah T had aranged the whole thing and made the cake. (Thank you Anna and Hannah!!) My Friends were there, except Bethany and Lydia, my Family, (Part of them) i was totaly blessed!! All of everyone was singing Happy Birthday to me, Except Ken Templeton.......He was singing his own version...
"Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday dear BUZZARD!! Happy Birthday to you!!"
Well, that is my Story. Hope you enjoyed it!!

"Go down, Death." By James Weldon Johnson

Weep not, weep not,
She is not dead;
She's resting in the bosom of Jesus.
Heart-broken husband--weep no more;
Grief-stricken son--weep no more;
Left-lonesome daughter --weep no more;
She only just gone home.

Day before yesterday morning,
God was looking down from his great, high heaven,
Looking down on all his children,
And his eye fell on Sister Caroline,
Tossing on her bed of pain.
And God's big heart was touched with pity,
With the everlasting pity.

And God sat back on his throne,
And he commanded that tall, bright angel standing at his right hand:
Call me Death!
And that tall, bright angel cried in a voice
That broke like a clap of thunder:
Call Death!--Call Death!
And the echo sounded down the streets of heaven
Till it reached away back to that shadowy place,
Where Death waits with his pale, white horses.

And Death heard the summons,
And he leaped on his fastest horse,
Pale as a sheet in the moonlight.
Up the golden street Death galloped,
And the hooves of his horses struck fire from the gold,
But they didn't make no sound.
Up Death rode to the Great White Throne,
And waited for God's command.

And God said: Go down, Death, go down,
Go down to Savannah, Georgia,
Down in Yamacraw,
And find Sister Caroline.
She's borne the burden and heat of the day,
She's labored long in my vineyard,
And she's tired--
She's weary--
Go down, Death, and bring her to me.

And Death didn't say a word,
But he loosed the reins on his pale, white horse,
And he clamped the spurs to his bloodless sides,
And out and down he rode,
Through heaven's pearly gates,
Past suns and moons and stars;
on Death rode,
Leaving the lightning's flash behind;
Straight down he came.

While we were watching round her bed,
She turned her eyes and looked away,
She saw what we couldn't see;
She saw Old Death. She saw Old Death
Coming like a falling star.
But Death didn't frighten Sister Caroline;
He looked to her like a welcome friend.
And she whispered to us: I'm going home,
And she smiled and closed her eyes.

And Death took her up like a baby,
And she lay in his icy arms,
But she didn't feel no chill.
And death began to ride again--
Up beyond the evening star,
Into the glittering light of glory,
On to the Great White Throne.
And there he laid Sister Caroline
On the loving breast of Jesus.

And Jesus took his own hand and wiped away her tears,
And he smoothed the furrows from her face,
And the angels sang a little song,
And Jesus rocked her in his arms,
And kept a-saying: Take your rest,
Take your rest.

Weep not--weep not,
She is not dead;
She's resting in the bosom of Jesus.

September 11th 2001

It has been 7 years today that a lot of Tragedies happened...

The Twin Towers were destroyed, and a lot of people died.

2,740 to be Exact.

But that doesn't mean that we have to forget about the one tragedy.
His life meant a lot to everyone he met. But now...

How Great thou Art!!

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

God's most Precious Gift

There's a miracle called friendship
It dwells in the Heart,
And you don't know how it happens

Or when it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift,

And you realize that friendship
Is God's most precious Gift.

Jesus keep me near the Cross

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary’s mountain.

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o’er me.

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross I’ll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

How to become an Illegal Alien

Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Immigration and Naturalization Service in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My reasons for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, what I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years.

I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process
started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of the last five years taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively?

This would yield an excellent return for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005 and I estimated a gross savings approximating $72,000. After the fine this would yield me a net savings of $70,000.

In addition, I would reap the other benefits of being an illegal alien such as free healthcare, avoidance of paying Social Security taxes, buying automobile insurance, serving on jury panels, etc.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,
Pete McGlaughlin

The Liberty Bell

Around the congress with closed door
Thousands of anxious people pour
To wait till all suspense be o'er.

And still above the bellman waits
The slow decision of the fates,
While fears depress and hope elates.

"Passed, it has passed," at length they cry,
Ten thousand glad mouths make reply,
And send the echoes to the sky.

"Ring! ring!" exclaims the watching boy;
The bell responds with notes of joy.
Freedom's proclaim its sweet employ.

Loud and more loud the proud notes swell,
The people's shouts responding well,
All o'er the land the glad news tell.

From sea to sea, from pole to pole,
The echoes of that bell shall roll,
Till freedom comes to every soul.

Pearly Gates

A man dies and goes to heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"
"Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service."
"Terrific!" says St. Peter, "that's certainly worth a point."
"One point? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantasic, that's good for two more points," he says.
"TWO POINTS!!" the man cries, "At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!"
"Come on in!"

NOW THAT'S GOD

It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. We had not seen rain in almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows had stopped giving milk. The creeks and streams were long gone back into the earth. It was a dry season that would bankrupt several farmers before it was through.
Every day, my husband and his brothers would go about the arduous process of trying to get water to the fields. Lately this process had involved taking a truck to the local water rendering plant and filling it up with water. But severe rationing had cut everyone off. If we
Didn’t see some rain soon...we would lose everything. It was on this day that I learned the true lesson of sharing and witnessed the only miracle I have seen with my own eyes. I was in the kitchen making lunch for my husband and his brothers when I saw my
Six-year-old son, Billy, walking toward the woods. He wasn't walking with the usual carefree abandon of a youth but with a serious purpose. I could only see his back. He was obviously walking with a great effort ... trying to be as still as possible. Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again, toward the house. I went back to making sandwiches; thinking that whatever task he had been doing was completed. Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that slow purposeful stride toward the woods. This activity went on for an hour: walking carefully to the woods, running back to the house.

Finally I couldn't take it any longer and I crept out of the house and followed him on his journey (being very careful not to be seen...as he was obviously doing important work and didn't need his Mommy checking up on him). He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked, being very careful not to spill the water he held in them ... maybe two or three tablespoons were held in his tiny hands. I sneaked close as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns slapped his little face, but he did not try to avoid them. He had a much higher purpose. As I leaned in to spy on him, I saw the most amazing site.

Several large deer loomed in front of him. Billy walked right up to them. I almost screamed for him to get away. A huge buck with elaborate antlers was dangerously close. But the buck did not threaten him...he didn't even move as Billy knelt down. And I saw a tiny fawn lying on the ground; obviously suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion, lift its head with great effort to lap up the water cupped in my beautiful boy's hand. When the water was gone, Billy jumped up to run back to the house and I hid behind a tree.
I followed him back to the house to a spigot to which we had shut off the water. Billy opened it all the way up and a small trickle began to creep out. He knelt there, letting the drip, drip slowly fill up his makeshift "cup," as the sun beat down on his little back. And it came clear to me: The trouble he had gotten into for playing with the hose the week before. The lecture he had received about the importance of not wasting water. The reason he didn't ask me to help him. It took almost twenty minutes for the drops to fill his hands. When he stood up and began the trek back, I was there in front of him.

His little eyes just filled with tears. "I'm not wasting," was all he said. As he began his walk, I joined him...with a small pot of water from the kitchen. I let him tend to the fawn. I stayed away. It was his job. I stood on the edge of the woods watching the most beautiful heart I have ever known working so hard to save another life. As the tears that rolled down my face began to hit the ground, other drops...and more drops...and more suddenly joined them. I looked up at the sky. It was as if God, himself, was weeping with pride.
Some will probably say that this was all just a huge coincidence. Those miracles don't really exist. That it was bound to rain sometime. And I can't argue with that... I'm not going to try. All I can say is that the rain that came that day saved our farm...just like the actions of one little boy saved another.
I don't know if anyone will read this...but I had to send it out. To honor the memory of my beautiful Billy, who was taken from me much too soon... But not before showing me the true face of God, in a little, sunburned body.
